Pattern 1 Replica Fairbairn Sykes Commando Knives
The Pattern 1 replica Fairbairn Sykes Commando knife is made to replicate the original Pattern 1 (P1). The original Fairbairn Sykes Pattern 1 is identified by the 3" S-shaped cross guard, "FS Fighting Knife", grip with a diamond cut pattern, and rounded ball end. The knife was later made with a 2" S-shaped cross guard before being finally replaced with oval cross guard in the P3. The scabbard that would have originally been used with the Pattern 1 is the scabbard with the buckle snap. The buckle snap scabbard is fitted with a high polish metal tip.
A unique opportunity to own a finely crafted, limited edition reproduction of the famous Pattern 1 Fairbairn Sykes Commando Knife with "S" guard. The hand ground blade displays the classic tapering edges, a feature found on originals, making this a truly authentic reproduction.
This series carries unique engraving on both sides of the ricasso and are sequentially numbered on a first come first served basis. Available on its own with sheath or in a mahogany presentation case with complimentary engraving.

The Pattern 1 replica Fairbairn Sykes Commando knife is made to replicate the original Pattern 1 (P1). The original Fairbairn Sykes Pattern 1 is identified by the 3" S-shaped cross guard, "FS Fighting Knife", grip with a diamond cut pattern, and rounded ball end. The X Dagger takes it name from the style of dagger purportedly carried by the perimeter sentries of Camp X. Located on the shores of Lake Ontario in Canada, Camp X was the training ground for for the OSS, SOE, BSC plus a number of other clandestine organizations. Lieutenant-Colonel Fairbairn was the most experienced person at that time in the art of "silent killing". They were worn on the inside of the trousers suspendered from the button used to attach braces (suspenders). This knife is one of the few designs that fall into the X Dagger category. Other designs feature a 3" "S" guard. The blade is 71/2" long with a rapid taper to a needle point tip with a unique ricasso grind. The guard is the oval type found on Pattern 2 F/S knives but 23/5" long with a thumb recess on both sides. The handle is the standard F/S "coke bottle" shape with diamond knurling. The finish on handle and guard can be either bright or satin nickel.

Guard: Pattern 2 straight 1/8th stock and nickel coated
Handle: From 1" Brass stock, diamond knurled and nickel coated.
Pommel Nut: Shaped and nickel coated.
